Maxine Kern
Maxine Kern is a freelance dramaturg. She teaches a graduate M.F.A. dramaturgy seminar at the State University of New York—Stonybrook.
Her recent dramaturgy includes Mina by Leslie Lee at La MaMa Inc. Theater Company, For the Time Being by W.H. Auden with
Affinity Theatre at The Classic Stage Company and Four Plays at The Equality Theater Playwright´s Festival at
DiverseCity Theatre, Theater Row´s Harold Clurman Theater and The Going to the River Festival´s M Odessey by PJ Gibson and
Salt in the Wound by Melissa Maxwell at EST. Her play Global Excursion was part of the La MAMA 2000 Experimental Play Reading
Series. Kern has also been artistic director at Company One Theater, literary manager at New Georges Theater and the George Street Playhouse,
dramaturg in residence at New Dramatists and producing associate at McCarter Theater.
