Monica Bauer is an award-winning playwright. A native of Omaha, Neb., she is a graduate of Brown, Yale and Boston University (BU). She was the
Teaching Fellow in the Graduate Playwriting Program at BU in 2004-05, where she studied with Kate Snodgrass and Derek Walcott. Bauer has also
studied with Craig Lucas as part of the Pataphysics seminars at The Flea Theater and is a member of the Dramatists Guild. In 2007, she
participated in both the Great Plains Theatre Conference and the Kennedy Center Summer Playwriting Intensive. Her plays have been produced in
Denver, Providence, Boston, Cambridge, Atlanta, San Diego and off-off-Broadway at the HERE Arts Center and the Bowery Poetry Club. Four of her
plays are published; three by Brooklyn Press and one by JAC Publications. She has recently had her full-length play The Maternal Instinct
produced at Louisiana Tech, Boston Playwrights´ Theater and at the Midtown International Theatre Festival off-off-Broadway.
