Robin Byrd

Robin Byrd Robin Byrd is a playwright and an award-winning poet who has had her poetry read in Los Angeles and Indiana. Several of her works have been mounted at the West Angeles Church Theater in Los Angeles with many thanks to Bishop Charles E. Blake for nurturing her gifts. She has studied acting under Kim Fields and Ben Harney (Tony Award winner - Dreamgirls, original Broadway production) to enhance her voice as a writer. She has been a featured playwright at the past Great Plains Theatre Conferences. Her plays include: Tennessee Songbird, Wolves, The Book of Years, Dream Catcher, The Day of Small Things, For This Reason, In Times Like These, Jezebel: Daughter of the Night, Solomon and the Shulamite, Rahab, Pharoah and her monodrama Me, My Fiddle an´ Momma, which Byrd has performed in Los Angeles. She is a member of the American Film Institute and the Dramatists Guild.
