Ron Giles teaches in the English Department at East Tennessee State University
and is a native of Alabama where he attended public schools and after a tour of
duty in Vietnam with the Army received a Ph.D. in English at Auburn University.
In addition to published stories and criticism, his poems have appeared in various
journals including The Alembic, Blueline, Birmingham Poetry Review and The Kerf.
An essay titled Reading on the Sly about growing up on a farm recently appeared in
the anthology Black Earth and Ivory Tower published by the University of South
Carolina Press (2005). Moses Otis is Not a White Man is Giles´ first play.
