Ron West has taught at Metropolitan Community College for more than five years. He holds a Bachelor´s Degree in English, a Master´s in Directing and a Ph.D. in Theatre History, Theory and Criticism. West has taught introduction to theatre, theatre history, basic acting and script analysis, as well as writing and speech courses at several universities.
In addition to working with Judith Malina and The Living Theatre, John Houseman´s Acting Company and the National Theatre for the Deaf, West has organized national auditions for the Mid America Theatre Conference. His writing has appeared in New England Theatre Journal, Theatre Studies and Theatre Survey. He has served on the advisory board for Oscar Brockett´s The Theatre: An Introduction, and he is a member of the Review Board for the Oswald Review, the only international journal of undergraduate research and writing in English literature and drama.
