Ross Maxwell was born in Scotland and raised in Beaverton, Oregon. His productions include Open House (New York International Fringe Festival 2006), Crimes Against Humanity (Vital Theatre, New York City), The Illusionist (Dad´s Garage, Atlanta), His Occupation (Purdue University) and Croatoan (Vital Theatre).
He is a recipient of the 2007 Kendeda Playwriting Award at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and a finalist for the John Cauble One-Act Playwriting Award at the Kennedy Center. He is a member of Partial Comfort Productions (www.partialcomfort. org), hosting the third annual downtown Battle of the Bards. He is also a member of Youngblood, the playwrights collective through the Ensemble Studio Theatre.
Maxwell received his B.A. in English from the University of Oregon and his M.F.A. from New York University Tisch School of the Arts in 2007.
