Tyrone Beasley is no stranger to the stage; he has worked with directors Peter Sellars, Claude Purdy,
Charles Marowitz, David Wheeler and Antonio Banderas, among others. Beasley moved back
from Los Angeles to ensure the future of the John Beasley Theater & Workshop (JBT) and has
directed several of their productions including The Piano Lesson and Ma Rainey´s Black
Bottom. He has appeared in Joe Turner´s Come and Gone, A Raisin in the Sun,
Jitney, Death of a Salesman and Top Dog Under Dog and both directed and appeared
in Ain´t Misbehavin´, Two Trains Running and Glengarry Glen Ross, all
at the JBT. Beasley also designs the sound for most of the JBT productions as well as coordinating and
teaching workshops.
