Vincent Carlson is going into his eighth year as a company member with the Nebraska Shakespeare
Festival (NSF), most recently completing the first regional tour as Petruchio in The Taming of the
Shrew. Also with NSF, Carlson has performed in Antony and Cleopatra, Othello, Richard III, Merry
Wives of Windsor, Twelfth Night, Two Gentlemen of Verona and The Tempest. Other credits include
Edward II, The Pillowman and Six Degrees of Separation (BlueBarn Theatre); Not About Nightingales
(Omaha Community Playhouse) and Fuddy Meers, Buried Child and A Streetcar Named Desire at
the University of Nebraska–Omaha where he received his B.A. in Theatre in 2004. Carlson is a
founding member of BlueBarn´s Witching Hour, a devised theatre ensemble where he has served
as playwright, director and actor. The ensemble just completed its third season in which it won
an Omaha Entertainment Award (Best Ensemble Acting for the production Grimm Reaping). In
addition to co-directing Grimm Reaping, Carlson has directed Short Fictions and Maledictions, Mad
World and juliepsychosis with BlueBarn´s Witching Hour. He has also worked as a fight director in the
community for three years. Carlson´s first play Curio and Valentine Are Pissed was a selection for the
2006 Great Plains Theatre Conference.
