Wayne Crome

Wayne Crome Wayne Crome is a three-time winner of the St. Louis Playwrights Festival and has had numerous productions of his plays in Chicago, St. Louis and other Midwest cities. Among his prizes and awards are the Missouri Association of Playwrights President´s Award as playwright of the year, three Illinois Arts Council Playwriting Fellowships and a commission from the American Blues Theatre (American Theatre Company) of Chicago for their Monsters series of one-act plays and monologues by well-known American playwrights. His monologue Warren from this series was performed in its original, uncut version in October of 2006 in Omaha´s own Shelterbelt Theater for their Halloween show, Shelterskelter. Another recent production was Moondancing by the First Run Theatre Company of St. Louis. Crome has also directed many of the short plays of his favorite playwright, Samuel Beckett. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Guthrie Theatre Playwrights Center.
