The Great Plains Theatre Conference (GPTC) at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE is excited to announce professional internship opportunities. Interns are vital staff positions and provide an opportunity for hands-on learning while actively contributing to this nationally recognized theatre conference.

 

GPTC interns will work directly with department managers and staff, receiving practical experience and leadership opportunities managing specific conference responsibilities.

ARTS ADMINISTRATION INTERNSHIP

Internships Offered: Six to twelve month position, full- or part-time

Date of Internship: To be arranged depending on length of position

Application Deadline: On-going

Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license, proficient Microsoft Office Skills

 

Work side-by-side with GPTC staff, this intern will be involved in multiple aspects of non-profit administration. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: database management, artist coordination, community outreach, assisting with promotional and in-house print and web materials, archival administration, production coordination, and assisting with development projects.

 

DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Internships Offered: Six to twelve month position, full- or part-time

Date of Internship: To be arranged depending on length of position

Application Deadline: On-going

Additional requirements: Writing sample submitted with application (include with resume), proficient Microsoft Office Skills

 

Work with the development staff of the GPTC and Metropolitan Community College Foundation to research, develop and produce grants and foundation requests.

 

WEB AND VIDEO TECH INTERNSHIP

Internships Offered: Six to twelve month position, Full- or part-time

Date of Internship: To be arranged depending on length of position

Additional requirements: Proficiency with video and web development and production

 

Work with GPTC and Metropolitan Community College staff to build and maintain all aspects of the Conference web and video files, and setup appropriate media archival systems. Assist in production of GPTC media resources into educational tools for Metro faculty/student use.

 

EVENT MANAGEMENT

Internships Offered:  May 3 – June 5, 2012, full time

Application Deadline: March 1, 2012

Additional requirements: Valid driver’s license, proficient Microsoft Office Skills

 

Work directly with the Metropolitan Community College event services staff to organize and execute all aspects of the GPTC.
