Turpentine Jake Receives NAACP Theater Awards Nominations - July 2009

Turpentine Jake received two NAACP Theater Awards nominations, for a production on the LMU Campus in August 2008, which will be presented on August 31, 2009, at the 19th Annual NAACP Theater Awards Ceremony at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood. Turpentine Jake was chosen for a playlab reading at the 2009 Great Plains Theatre Festival.

Turpentine Jake Receives NAACP Theater Award - August 31, 2009

The 2009 NAACP Theatre Awards ceremony August 31, 2009, Turpentine Jake took home an award for Best Actress in a local production; her name is Rae’Ven Larrymore Kelly, and her first starring role was with Sam Jackson in A Time to Kill. Turpentine Jake was the only “first production by a theatre company” to take home an award, and to be nominated in two categories was a terrific thrill!
