New Dean of Applied Technology
Metropolitan Community College named Kirk Ahrends, Dean of Applied Technology, effective August 29, 2012. Ahrends served as superintendent of Westwood Public Schools in Iowa for 11 years before being appointed to MCC.
Course/Instructor Feedback Available for all Online Classes
Effective with the fall quarter course/instructor feedback will now be available for all online classes. Access to the online feedback process is available during the same time frame as the on campus paper feedback system, which is approximately one month encompassing week 6-10.
Substitute Faculty Rate Increase
Beginning with the winter quarter, the substitute faculty pay rate will increase from $25 per hour to $35 per hour.
Children on Campus
Out of respect for all students and concern for safety and liability issues, children not registered in MCC classes are not permitted to attend class with their parent or guardian or be left unattended at any College location.

Metropolitan Community College’s Academic Resource Centers are located on 4 Metro Campuses, while the Academic Support Commons is located at the Elkhorn Valley Campus.

Campus Planning and Sustainability
Campus Planning & Sustainability (CPS) worked through the summer on programming of three separate facilities being proposed for Fort and Elkhorn Valley Campuses.
The Records Office moved from bldg 30 on the Fort Omaha Campus to bldg 5 last month. We are located on the first floor of the building (north end).
