Academic Affairs message

A message from Kathleen Curphy

Thank you for your warm welcome. I have been truly overwhelmed with the support I have received since I have been here. I have met interesting, exciting and innovative faculty and staff as I have made the grand tour of our campuses and centers. Your programs and facilities are impressive. I would like to thank those of you who took the time to visit with me about your programs and students. I am very excited to be here and look forward to being a part of an innovative institution that has a strong impact in the community.

The Framing the Future sessions presented by President Schmailzl and his team laid out the plan for the new buildings that will be built at the College. Three of those buildings, which will be at the Fort Omaha Campus, are the Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology, Construction Education Center and the Academic Skills Center. Toward that end, we are creating teams that will determine the pedagogy or model of teaching and learning that will be used in the new buildings. We need to take the best methodologies that are used throughout the College and infuse them into a model that will be used in the new buildings. If you would like to be a part of one of the teams, please let me know. This is an exciting time for the College as we create an innovative future.
