Rent-a-Text Beginning this fall, the MCC campus bookstores will be introducing a new textbook rental program that will allow students to save upwards of 50 percent on many of the books that we use in our courses. Learn more…


Excellence in Teaching Awards

Metropolitan Community College's Excellence in Teaching Awards were presented at the Academic Affairs Annual Banquet. These awards are given annually to full-time and adjunct faculty who exemplify professionalism, commitment to learning, relationships with students and relationships with colleagues. Recipients received a certificate and were selected to attend and represent MCC at the 2011 NISOD (National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development) Conference. Learn more…

The Assessment for Student Learning Outcomes individual and group awards were presented at the Academic Affairs Banquet on March 9. These awards are designed to recognize both an individual faculty member and a group whose efforts have significantly contributed to departmental, program or prefix assessment activities. Sustainability

Sustainability Website and Classroom Module Available

Daniel Lawse, the Coordinator of Sustainable Practices here at MCC, is pleased to announce the launching of MCC's new website dedicated to educating faculty, staff, students and the community about just what it means to be sustainable. Visitors to the website can browse lists of local green organizations, the latest in environmental news and upcoming events on the green community calendar. Learn more…

 

Campus Connections

Testing Services

Testing is an important part of the academic process. MCC has Testing Centers located at each of the three main campuses with limited services provided at the center locations. Our Testing Centers provide assessment testing for new students and entrance exams for Nursing and Health programs, as well as public certification exams. We also serve students who need make-up or re-take exams. So far this academic year, the Testing Centers have administered more than 23,000 exams, 39 percent of which were make-up exams. Learn more…

Annual Graduation Ceremony

Graduation MCC will host the annual graduation ceremony to honor graduates from Summer 2009, Fall 2009, Winter 200910 and Spring 2010 on Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Omaha Civic Auditorium at 7 p.m. For more information about the graduation ceremony, contact Admissions at (402) 457-2422. Great Plains Theatre Conference

The Great Plains Theatre Conference celebrates its fifth anniversary in May 2010. The Conference will honor the work of playwright David Lindsay-Abaire. Every day of the Conference there are playlab readings of new scripts that are free for all to attend. All of them happen at the Fort Omaha Campus. Feel free to drop in and watch a play reading. Every evening of the Conference there are special performances of master artists and playwrights. Those performances happen in venues all across the city. As an MCC faculty member, you can get complimentary admission to any of these events. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Learn more…
