What is Faculty Ex Officio?

Faculty Ex Officio is a position that was created by the Board of Governors to enhance communication among the faculty and the College. Like the Student Ex Officio, the Faculty Ex Officio attends the monthly Board of Governors’ meetings and participates in discussions of agenda items. The Faculty Ex Officio is elected in the fall by the faculty and serves a two-year term.

 

What does the Faculty Ex Officio do?

The Faculty Ex Officio attends the Board of Governors’ monthly meetings and participates in discussions of agenda items. The Faculty Ex Officio updates the board about the faculty at MCC. The Faculty Ex Officio position gives a full-time faculty member an opportunity to be a voice for MCC faculty. The Faculty Ex Officio also interacts with the Student Ex Officio member who represents the MCC student body.

 

Is the Faculty Ex Officio an ombudsman?

No. The Faculty Ex Officio is not an ombudsman. An ombudsman is someone who is appointed to investigate complaints. The Faculty Ex Officio does not investigate faculty complaints. The Faculty Ex Officio’s purpose is to be a faculty representative at the Board of Governors’ meetings. The Faculty Ex Officio updates the board about faculty life at MCC.

 

Who is the current Faculty Ex Officio?

The current Faculty Ex Officio is Lynn Bradman. Lynn’s term ends November 30, 2004.

 

Why should I consider being a candidate for Faculty Ex Officio?

The Faculty Ex Officio position provides a full-time faculty member opportunities to learn about Board of Governors’ functions, points of view, and policies. It also provides a unique hands-on experience in community service.

 

What does it take to be the Faculty Ex Officio?

How do I register to be a candidate in the 2004 Faculty Ex Officio Election?

Candidacy registration forms will be available Fall 2004 on the Ex Officio web site.

 

After I submit the candidacy registration form, how do I know if I am an eligible candidate?

Eligible candidates for the Faculty Ex Officio election will be notified by the Human Resources Office.

 

What will I need to do before I begin my campaign as an eligible candidate?

Eligible candidates for the Faculty Ex Officio election will be asked to stop by the Marketing and Public Relations Office to have their picture taken.
