Hot Topic
Alright, I'm not referring to a boat slip, vacation or one of the four seasons. Looks fun though! I'm referring to conditions and behaviors that may cause someone to slip, trip or fall and potentially become injured. Historically, we have had several incidents associated with these hazards. The good news is that they are preventable. Check out the following link for more information on slips, trips and falls as well as what we can all do to prevent an accident:
Slips, Trips and Falls Fact Sheet
Reference: The Fact Sheet is from the North Carolina Department of Labor.
Quarterly Tip
To help beat the heat, the Pennsylvania Department of Health recommends:
- Drink two to four cups of water every hour.
- Avoid drinks with caffeine, alcohol or large amounts of sugar.
- Limit outdoor work to mornings and evenings and rest often in a shaded area.
- Wear light-colored and loose-fitting clothing, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher.
