Hometown: Omaha, NE

Education: Associate of Arts degree from Northeast Community College, Bachelors of Arts degree in Speech Communication, Organizational Leadership, and Public Relations from Wayne State College. Currently working towards Master of Arts in Communication Studies at University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Past-Professional work experience: I worked with potential students by giving tours as a Student Ambassador at Northeast Community College for two years as well as a Navigator at Wayne State College for a year. Also, I worked with volunteers and donors as the Communications Manager at the United Way of the Kearney Area before starting at MCC.

Favorite thing about MCC: There are so many options here, so there is sure to be something for everyone! The staff wants each student to succeed and works hard to help them as much as possible. With the smaller class sizes, the students receive a more personal education.

Areas of Special Interest: Trades. I work with the Construction, Industrial, and Applied Technology trade programs at MCC. There are so many opportunities for men AND women in these areas without needing a 4 year degree.

One interesting fact about me: I am an MCC alum in one of the first Career Academy classes! I studied Early Childhood Education while in high school.

Programs specific to my campus: I split my time in between the Construction Education Center on the Fort Omaha Campus, the South Omaha Campus, and the Applied Technology Center. These three campuses house the 16 career and technical trade areas. Some popular areas of study include Welding, CDL, Electrical, Precision Machinery, and Automotive Collision/Technology.
