High School Culinary Invitational winners announced

The Swanson Conference Center inside Metropolitan Community College’s Institute for Culinary Arts looked more like a live episode of the cooking show “Chopped” on Feb. 22. Chefs were moving quickly, chopping, slicing, dicing and cooking as a giant clock on the wall ticked down.
These weren’t adults cooking, though. They were high school students from all over Omaha and Lincoln who were participating in the ICA High School Culinary Invitational. Teams of students had to prepare a three-course meal for a panel of expert judges.
Winners were awarded prizes such as scholarships, gift certificates, medals and a trophy. A full list of winners is below.
