Media alert: Creative Writing Forum at MCC to take place Oct. 28-29

What: The writing forum is designed to promote original, inspired writing at the College and in the surrounding community. The forum will feature a poetry slam, breakout sessions and keynote speaker, Sam Ligon. Breakout sessions and discussions will be led by accomplished special guests from the Omaha World Herald, Omaha Magazine, The Reader and more. Topics of discussion include subjects such as freelance writing, poetry, telling compelling stories and other helpful writing techniques.
When: Friday, Oct. 28, 6–10 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 29, 8:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Where: MCC’s Fort Omaha Campus, Buildings 21 and 22, 32nd and Sorensen Parkway.
Background: The forum is being held with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, Humanities Nebraska and the Metropolitan Community College Foundation.
