New exhibition comes to MCC’s Gallery of Art and Design Sept. 14

OMAHA, Neb. — Metropolitan Community College’s Gallery of Art and Design will welcome “Tokyo is Yours” beginning Wednesday, Sept. 14 and running through Tuesday, Oct. 11. “Tokyo is Yours” is a photography exhibition created by Larry Gawel, MCC Photography instructor. The exhibit features photos Gawel took during his time spent in Japan.
There will be a special opening reception held at the gallery on Wednesday, Sept. 145-6:30 p.m. Attendees will enjoy the unveiling as well as a chance to speak with Gawel. MCC’s Gallery of Art and Design is located at the College’s Elkhorn Valley Campus, 829 N. 204th Street. The gallery’s hours are Monday-Thursday9 a.m.-8 p.m.Friday9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The mission of the gallery is to provide a creative and academic experience for students, faculty, staff and the visiting public in an intimate campus setting, where all exhibits and events are free and open to the public.
