MCC Student Art Exhibition returns to EVC


OMAHA, Neb. — Metropolitan Community College's Gallery of Art and Design's 17th annual Student Art Exhibition opens Wednesday, April 19 at the Elkhorn Valley Campus, 829 N. 204th St. 

The exhibition will begin with an opening night reception and awards ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. with awards announced at 6 p.m. There will be refreshments and free parking available for guests. 


The exhibition will feature 48 pieces of artwork from 63 MCC students created over the last year in the department of Arts and Humanities. It will be open to the public through May 16.

The Gallery of Art and Design's hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The mission of the gallery is to provide a creative and academic experience for students, faculty, staff and the visiting public in an intimate campus setting, where all exhibits are free and open to the public.




Metropolitan Community College, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, is a comprehensive, public community college that offers affordable, quality education to all residents of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington counties. Founded in 1974, MCC has the largest enrollment out of six community colleges in Nebraska and is the second largest postsecondary institution in the state. MCC serves more than 40,000 unique credit and noncredit students.
