IT Internship & Career Readiness Program


MCC Information Technology Department

Internships are a great way to build new skills, boost your resume and explore different careers. Internships can also lead to a full-time job. In fact, 7 in 10 internships do! MCC collaborates with many area businesses and organizations to offer internships and early job opportunities to INFO students. Many jobs are paid and allow for flexible scheduling as well.


INFO students who meet all of the following criteria may be eligible for an internship:

  • Completion of Course Requirements (listed below)
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
  • MCC Faculty Recommendation
  • Current Resume

Students who meet the criteria above are invited to enroll in our I.T. Internship / Career Readiness Course that has been developed to validate all INFO students seeking early career opportunities meet our minimum expectations for readiness. To request enrollment in the course, please contact Susan Hood via email at please include "I.T. Career Readiness Course Enrollment Request" in the subject line when requesting permission to enroll. Please be sure to include the following items in your email to Ms. Hood when requesting course enrollment:

  1. Your Full Name
  2. MCC Student ID
  3. An unofficial copy of your MCC course transcript.

Minimum Course Requirements:

Complete the INFO Core and courses listed below for your program of study. Additional courses may be required and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

For example, if your area of study is Desktop Support Specialist, you should complete INFO 1000, 1002, 2805, 1005, 1030, and 1125 prior to pursuing an MCC-sponsored internship.
