GAP Financial Assistance

Community College GAP Assistance Program

A Nebraska financial aid program offered to eligible community college students taking non-credit courses that can lead to in-demand occupations.

What is the GAP Assistance Program?

The Community College GAP Assistance Program provides need-based tuition assistance for approved short-term non-credit training programs that are in high-need fields. Since noncredit programs are not eligible for federal financial aid, this program is designed to bridge the funding gap for individuals who meet program and eligibility requirements to complete the short-term non-credit training programs.

Are You Eligible?

Eligible students will have a family income at or below 250 percent of federal poverty income guidelines, be a Nebraska resident and a U.S. Citizen or a qualifying legal alien. Eligible students should have the ability to complete the program of study and gain and maintain full-time employment.

What Does GAP Funding Cover?

Costs covered for eligible students include partial or total assistance for tuition, books, equipment and required fees.
