He is interested in serving on the MCC Foundation board because Scott knows that growing the workforce with capable individuals is a challenge, especially in states that are not growing quickly. Scott believes we need to develop as many work-ready individuals as possible so we can continue to grow the Omaha metro economy. He understands the MCC Foundation plays an important role in helping to develop these individuals. He believes as a society, we have a responsibility to assist those who for whatever reason may have missed out on educational opportunities in their formative years.

Scott’s interest in community colleges stems from a belief that there must be utility in what students are being taught. He believes community colleges are performing better than four year schools in arming students with the necessary skills which are relevant to the business community.
