Career Academy

The Metropolitan Community College Career Academy is designed to provide Nebraska high school juniors and seniors with opportunities to jumpstart their post-secondary education. Nebraska High School students receive half-price standard tuition.
Student welding

students will learn and apply:

  • Practical skills and information for specific career areas

  • Safety procedures

  • Gain job-seeking skills

  • Interpersonal skills for the workplace

Students must:

  • Be a high school junior or senior

  • Be 16 years old or older

  • Be selected to participate by application

  • Have transportation to and from classes and internship/apprenticeship site

Application

  • Complete application is due to Secondary Partnerships by March 6, 2020

  • Approval  through the counselor at each participating high school is necessary

As an MCC college student and Career Academy participant, it is important for you to become familiar with the College and Career Academy guidelines. Due to current health precautions, we are unable to hold an in-person orientation this summer.  However, printed copies of the orientation materials are included in this packet.  Please carefully review all of the orientation materials.
