Concurrent Enrollment

The Concurrent Enrollment program is a partnership between Metropolitan Community College and our high school districts throughout the greater Omaha area. Concurrent enrollment allows high school students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. MCC credits earned may transfer to other college or university which accepts MCC credits. It is the responsibility of the student to verify if the course will transfer to the receiving institution. To learn about transferability at local four-year colleges, please visit the Articulation webpage.

Classes are taught in the individual high school classroom, as scheduled, during the regular school year.

Student enrollment and payment

Registration forms are supplied to each high school for student enrollment. Completed and signed registration forms are to be returned to the appropriate high school representative for submission to MCC. Tuition payments are made separately and can be completed online, by phone, or in person. Tuition payment dates are based on MCC quarters. Concurrent Enrollment students should make payments between the following dates:

  • Fall: September 20 - October 1
  • Winter: February 2 - February 14
  • Spring: April 10 - April 20

Additional details can be found on the Concurrent Enrollment Student Resources document.

Concurrent Enrollment instruction

A high school teacher, with a Nebraska teaching certification and a master's degree with 18 hours of graduate coursework in the area of instruction, teaches in the high school classroom using Metropolitan Community College's course outline with approval from the academic area dean. High School faculty members seeking to become a Concurrent Enrollment instructor should apply online.
