Advising: Collaborate – Validate - Empower
In Nebraska our students often take courses at more than one institution during their educational journey. As higher education professionals we want to collaborate, validate, and empower our students. While students pursue their educational goals, they can face many challenges such as lack of resources, money, time, and other disparities that affect their ability to succeed. How can we collaborate with each other to support these students? How can we help validate student concerns and guide them to the correct resources? How can we empower students to take ownership of their educational goals and strive for success? Please join us at the MCC and UNO Mini Summer Advising Conference on July 19th to share ideas and collaborate!
The Advising Department at Metropolitan Community College and University of Nebraska at Omaha invites proposals for the 2023 Advising conference. We seek proposals that focus on institutional collaboration to support student accountability, growth, development and success. We invite proposals that have a strong focus on student support in higher education, impact advising, appeal to conference participants, and that are applicable for participants after the conference.
The conference offers three distinct tracks:
- Conceptual: Collaborative Best Practices
- Relational: Advisors and Students/ Advisors and Faculty
- Informational: Advising and Higher Ed.
