Conference Overview

YOUR Students, OUR Students: Collaborating to Positively Impact All Students

In the Omaha-Metro area students often take courses at more than one institution over an extended period of time. Regardless of where students begin their academic journey, we all have a responsibility and shared interest in helping students successfully complete their academic goals. While pursuing their educational goals, students face challenges such as lack of resources, money, time, and other disparities that affect their ability to succeed. How can we best support and guide them? How can we help students learn to advocate for themselves? How can we strengthen advisor to student relationships with a foundation of trust? How can we support students in this transition between institutions? We want to collaborate with area institutions to help students achieve these goals!

The Advising Department at Metropolitan Community College invites proposals for the 2022 Advising conference. We seek proposals that focus on institutional collaboration to support student accountability, growth, development and success. We invite proposals that have a strong focus on student support in higher education, impact advising, appeal to conference participants, and that are applicable for participants after the conference.
