Noncredit English as a Second Language

who we are

Metropolitan Community College Adult Education provides noncredit ESL classes for literacy level, non-English speaking students. The classes focus on basic English and survival English skills. Students who can already communicate in English should consider continuing to improve their English speaking and writing skills in credit ESLX classes.

New students must call for an appointment and complete the orientation in order to attend a noncredit ESL class. The orientation process includes taking the BEST Plus Assessment Test and registering for class on the same day. Fall quarter orientation begins Aug. 14. You may call 531-622-4060 after July 24 to schedule an appointment. All noncredit ESL new student orientation is at MCC Express, 3002 S. 24th St.

program description

ESL classes are offered quarterly at various locations throughout the metropolitan Omaha area. Additionally, classes are offered at the MCC Fremont Campus in Dodge county. To enroll at that location, call 531-622-2507.

All students pay an annual registration fee of $25 upon enrollment. This fee is paid by all new and returning students prior to every winter quarter registration as well.
Prospective students must be Nebraska residents who are at least 18 years of age in order to enroll.
