Arranging for a Proctored Examination at another location

For students needing to have their exams proctored at another location, MCC provides a MCC Off Campus Test Proctoring Form to provide you guidance. Students will need to complete their portion of form and then have their proposed proctor complete and sign their portion. It is the student's responsibility to then mail, fax or email the completed form to a MCC Testing Center at least two weeks before the expected testing date for approval. If the request is approved, the exam(s) and instructions will be mailed or emailed to the proctor.

Arranging for an Outside Proctored Examination at an MCC location

Metropolitan Community College provides proctoring services for non-MCC students who need to take non-MCC tests and assessments for other educational institutions (i.e. Remote Accuplacer, Distance Learning or Educational Courses and Make-up Tests). MCC reserves the right to schedule these exams based on availability of seating and ability to accommodate students based on the requesting institutions testing requirements and expectations.

If an exam has complex instructions, consult with a Testing Center staff member to ensure that correct instructions are given to the student. Students will be informed of the time limit for the exam. Start and stop times will be documented, however, it is not always possible to monitor a student's exam time, leaving that responsibility up to the student. Testing Center staff members are not responsible for duplicating, correcting or interpreting exams.

There is a $30 proctoring examination fee levied for each exam taken. This fee must be paid in advance of taking the test. Fees may be paid at either the Student Services Cashier Cage (cash, credit card, check) or by contacting the Student Accounts office at 531-MCC-2405 (credit card only). Students must obtain and present a receipt a number to the Testing Center as proof of payment before testing can be initiated for any outside institution's certification paperwork.

MCC tries to meet the needs of all students with documented disabilities needing special accommodations, including extended test times and reduced distraction environments. However, we are unable to provide any readers or scribes for any proctored assessments.

If exams/results are required to be returned via the US Postal Service, packaging, postage and handling must be provided and prepaid by the outside educational institution.

An MCC Instructor Transmittal Form for External Proctoring is required to accompany each exam submitted, whether submitted online or in hard copy. Exams and transmittal forms must be received jointly and at least 24 hours prior to the student making an appointment and taking the test.

Students are expected to contact the Testing Center at least 24 hours prior to taking their proctored test. Instructors are not permitted to schedule test dates in advance requiring students to attend.

If you would like to have a test proctored for you, have your (the requesting) institution contact the Testing Center that you would like to take your exam at so that the staff at that Testing Center (the one proctoring) the test(s) can make or complete any necessary preparations prior to your arrival.

For any further questions, directly contact the Testing Center at which you wish to be proctored. All students will need to have a valid government issued photo ID or MCC student ID to take any examination or assessment.
