Remote ACCUPLACER Testing

** NOTICE **
DUE TO COVID-19 All MCC Testing Centers Are Operating Remotely Until Further Notice.

Note: Placement Testing  
is being Administered Remotely
through all Campuses.

Remote Accuplacer Information:

Students needing to take the placement examination are required to have a MCC Student Identification Number and be registered with MCC. If you do not have one, this can be accomplished by following the application process after you select the Apply Button.

After this has been completed, arrangements can then be made to have a placement exam proctored remotely for you by contacting a Testing Center by email or phone. 

Please include the following information with your inquiry:

  • Name
  • Current Phone Number
  • Email Address
  • Anticipated MCC Start Date: Summer (June) or Fall (September)

In order to proctor and take a remote placement exam, the following requirements are needed:

  • Current original (not a copy or photo) government issued or MCC photo ID
  • Web camera
  • Microphone (optional}
  • Internet connection
  • Quiet testing environment
  • Scratch paper
  • Pencil/Pen
  • Consent to have your remote placement exam session recorded

If you have any questions or if you want to schedule an assessment, please contact one of the Testing Centers below. They will respond to your inquiry by email or phone to schedule your remote placement exam as quickly as possible.

ADDITIONAL Remote Accuplacer testing

There are two additional types of remote ACCUPLACER testing possible and are for students taking the exam at another educational institution:

  1. Accuplacer testing for Metropolitan Community College, administered at other locations that participate in the Accuplacer remote network

  2. Accuplacer testing for other institutions that participate in the Accuplacer remote network, administered at a Metropolitan Community College Testing Center

MCC ACCUPLACER Testing at a Remote Location

Students seeking to register at MCC but who cannot test at an MCC Testing Center may take MCC's Accuplacer test at another locations. Please follow these steps to determine whether testing is available in your area and to schedule a remote MCC Accuplacer test.

  • Contact any MCC Testing Center to determine whether or not there is a test center near you (in the U.S. or abroad) that offers Accuplacer Remote Testing. Be advised that most testing locations will charge a proctoring fee for this service.

  • If there is a testing center that proctors Accuplacer near you, then a MCC Testing Center Technician will need to ask you for some personal information (name, date of birth, SSN, address including zip code, phone numbers) to set up your Remote Accuplacer Examination.

  • Once MCC has registered you for a Remote Accuplacer Test, both you and the institution you will take the test at will receive an email confirmation containing your Voucher Number for testing purposes. The student is then held responsible to contact their chosen testing location to schedule a Remote Accuplacer testing appointment.

Accuplacer Testing for other INSTITUTIONS at an MCC Testing Center

Students seeking to take an Accuplacer test for another Academic Institution may take it at any MCC Testing Center will need to follow these steps.

  • Students who wish to take the Remote Accuplacer assessment for another institution at an MCC Testing Center will need to contact that school to register for a remote test.
  • Once a Remote Accuplacer is registered with that outside institution, an email will be forwarded to them an the MCC Testing Location of choice with a Testing Voucher Number.
  • The test taker should then contact the MCC Testing Center the Remote Accuplacer was registered to for more information and to schedule an appointment for this testing.
  • MCC does not charge a proctoring fee to students who are testing for another Nebraska institution. MCC does charge a $30 proctoring fee to students taking a Remote Accuplacer for all institution outside the state of Nebraska.
  • This fee must be paid in advance of taking the test. Fees may be paid at either the Student Services Cashier Cage (cash, credit card, check) or by contacting the Student Accounts office at 531-MCC-2405 (credit card only).
  • Students must obtain and present a receipt a number to the Testing Center as proof of payment before testing can be initiated.

Remote Accuplacer testing for other institutions is subject to MCC Proctoring Policies. All testing for outside institutions will not be proctored without a payment receipt and valid original (not a copy or photo) government-issued photo ID.
