FAFSA Assistance

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) is your application to the US Department of Education for federal financial aid programs, like Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study, or Direct Loans. The FAFSA® is an annual application found at StudentAid.gov.


**Notice from Department of Education**

The updates to the 2024-25 FAFSA have caused a delay in the Department of Education's processing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  2024-25 FAFSA student information will not be available to schools to review or make financial aid offers until mid-March 2024.  If you have any questions, please email Financial Aid at FinancialAid@mccneb.edu. 

The 2023-24 FAFSA applies toward the academic year between September 2023 to August 2024. It is available from October 1, 2022 to June 30, 2024.

The 2024-25 FAFSA applies toward the academic year between September 2024 to August 2025. It is available from December 31, 2023 to June 30, 2025.

Filling out the FAFSA®

1. Create an account to establish your FSA ID username and password.
2. Complete and submit the FAFSA application by the deadline.
3. Review your Student Aid Report (SAR) at StudentAid.gov to see your results. 
4. Follow up with your Financial Aid Office if you need to complete FAFSA verification. 

MCC Financial Aid Self-Service will help guide you through the financial aid process at MCC.  Please submit any requested documents immediately. 

Financial Aid Offer Letters are sent once a financial aid file is complete. 


Priority Deadlines for FAFSA at MCC

  • Fall quarter: July 1 
  • Winter quarter: Oct. 1
  • Spring quarter: Jan. 1
  • Summer quarter: March 1

Priority deadlines are the suggested dates to submit your FAFSA application to ensure your aid is processed before the academic quarter starts. 
FAFSA applications submitted after the posted priority deadlines, will be processed but could result in delays of your financial aid offer and disbursement of aid.
