Hop on a Green Bike to get around MCC's Fort Omaha Campus. The Green Bike Program is a free program available to all students, faculty and staff on MCC's Fort Omaha Campus. Bright green bikes will be available free of charge on a first-come first-serve basis to get around the Fort Omaha Campus. Bikes are for on-campus use only. See below for complete rules.

Green Bikes Program The Green Bike program is made possible through a partnership between MCC, Live Well Omaha, The Community Bike Shop and Green Street Cycles. This program is designed to allow for quicker, cleaner and healthier campus navigation.

Disclaimer:
By using MCC Green Bike Program bicycles, riders agree to use due care and common sense when riding. Riders will take safety precautions and follow the rules of the road. The Green Bike Program strongly suggests the use of helmets, to be provided by the rider, when riding an MCC bike. Helmets are available for check-out at the Fort Omaha Campus Library at no cost to the rider.

Riders waive any and all liability for and cause of action for personal injury, property damage or wrongful death arising from participation in MCC's Green Bike Program.

How it Works (Rules)

  • Riders ride at their own risk
  • Green bikes are available for free use on the Fort Omaha Campus on a first-come first-serve basis
  • Riders must abide by all bicycle traffic laws
  • Bicycles must be left at designated bike racks when not in use
  • Bicycles may not be removed from the Fort Omaha Campus premises

Green Bikes Program

  • Riders ride at their own risk
  • Wear a helmet (helmets are available for rent at the Fort Omaha Campus Library at no cost to rider)
  • Obey all bicycle traffic laws
  • Use common sense when riding
  • Check tires and brakes before riding
  • Yield to pedestrians
  • Be aware of automobile traffic
  • Ride slowly or walk bikes in congested areas
  • Ride during daylight only

About the Bikes

Easily identified by their vivid lime green color, MCC's eight green bikes are second-hand bicycles generously donated by The Community Bike Shop of Omaha. Green Street Cycles has partnered with MCC to keep the bikes in good repair.
