Medication Aide

Overview

The Medication Aide course (HLTH 1300) at MCC is a 50-clock hour course that prepares students interested in the healthcare field and helping others.

Medication Aides are considered part of the interdisciplinary health care team and assists with the delivery of routine medications under direct supervision. They may also help monitor medication effects and care for facility residents. They often work in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and immediate care facilities.

Job & Salary Outlook

There are many job opportunities in the health care field for Medication Aides. Currently the average Medication Aide wage in Nebraska is $15.92/hour, which may be even higher in some agencies.

The MCC Medication Aide course is ideal for students already in the healthcare field looking to enhance their job skills and responsibilities.
