Auto Collision Technology

Overview

The Auto Collision Technology program at MCC prepares students for a hands-on career in the auto industry.

Auto collision focuses on many different areas of car repair, including basic and advanced metal finishing, frame repair and alignment, panel replacement, major body repair and autobody painting.

Program Options:

Accelerated Lockstep Program: Associates Degree of Applied Science- 9 month program that starts in the fall each year. Students come to class from 8-4pm on Mon, Tues, and Thurs for 9 months. Wed and Fridays are reserved for Gen Ed classes or potentially part time employment.

Traditional Night Program: Associates Degree of Applied Science- 2 year program that students can start any quarter. Classes are offered from 6-10pm and basically offered a la carte so they can complete the program at night while being employed during the day. Typically, night students take 2 or 3 night classes a quarter.

Collision Engineering Program: Associates Degree of Applied Science- 15 month program that starts in the fall each year. (APPLICATION BASED) We partner students up with participating shops and the student then takes classes here at MCC and then works at the participating shop during the next quarter. Shops participating in the cohort model have mentorships and objectives that are meet while employed every other quarter. This opportunity is typically sponsored by the repair facility and students get paid while working at the shops every other quarter.
