For Faculty and Staff

Consultation

When a student expresses a behavior that concerns you—from outbursts in class to sudden, unexplained absences—counselors are available to help you determine how best to address the issue and can provide intervention and referrals to resources when warranted. Faculty and staff may contact any counselor for consultation but are encouraged to contact the counselor at the location most accessible for the student of concern:

EVC: Molly Engdahl at 531-MCC-1316, mengdahl@mccneb.edu
FOC: Dani Bojanski at 531-MCC-2644, dbojanski1@mccneb.edu
SRP: Brittany Pintor at 531-MCC-3841, bspintor@mccneb.edu
SOC:  Brittany Pintor at 531-MCC-3841, bspintor@mccneb.edu

Referring a Student

Metropolitan Community College offers procedures and resources for students, faculty and staff to address student distress, concerning behaviors and conflicts affecting the college community. This involves a balance of individuals' rights, the safety of the campus community and the preservation of the educational environment.

We want to support our students who may be experiencing challenges that may hinder their educational goals. Refer students, at the earliest point possible by submitting a SHARE form so we can provide intervention to connect them to on and off campus resources.

Crisis Situations

In the event that a student is in an emotional crisis while on campus, Advocacy Counselors can provide intervention, assessment and support. Students in crisis should not be left alone until they are connected with a counselor. DSS Counselors can also assist in these situations if the Advocacy Counselor is unavailable.

MCC College Police, 531-622-2222, should be contacted in cases or immediate danger.
