Mission and Strategic Focus

Metropolitan Community College's mission is to deliver relevant, student-centered education to a diverse community of learners.

To fulfill our mission, we are committed to four Guiding Principles to guide our daily endeavors.

  • Provide student-focused learning and service

  • Engage and respond to community needs

  • Manage resources responsibly

  • Celebrate inclusion and diversity

‚ÄčThe College's Strategic Plan further explores MCC's mission to deliver an excellent education. The four focus areas are:

  • Focus learning delivery systems on student success

  • Smooth student pathways

  • Proactively plan our future

  • Increase participation across the four-county area

For more information, check out our 2019-2020 Mission Achievement Plan.

Over the next several months MCC will collect data, scan the local, regional and national environment for trends and conduct internal and external facilitated dialogue sessions. For more information, take a look at our Planning Timeline. Outcomes from this initial pre-planning phase will inform a new vision for MCC's continued service to the four-county area and contribute to longer-term College planning beginning in July 2020.

Updates and information about the pre-planning process will be posted on this page over the next several months.
