Refund Policy

MCC's institutional refund policy explains when tuition and other eligible institutional charges may be reduced or refunded following a course withdrawal or schedule change. MCC's institutional refund policy is separate from the federal Return of Title IV Funds calculation that may apply to students receiving federal student aid.

Tuition – Refund Policy

Return of Title IV Federal Student Aid

Federal regulations require MCC to determine the amount of Title IV federal student aid a student has earned when the student withdraws, ceases attendance, or otherwise meets the federal definition of withdrawal before completing the payment period. The amount of aid earned is generally based on the percentage of the payment period completed. Unearned Title IV funds must be returned in accordance with federal requirements and may result in a balance owed to MCC and/or a requirement for the student to repay certain funds. MCC's Return of Title IV Funds calculation is separate from the College's institutional tuition refund policy. Students receiving federal student aid should review MCC's Return of Title IV Funds disclosure for additional information about the calculation, return requirements, and possible financial consequences of withdrawal.
