The Omaha Builders Exchange is a local, member-oriented nonprofit association dedicated to supporting the construction industry throughout Nebraska and western Iowa. OBE is the original social and networking group founded in 1889, as well as an evolved plan room with more than 400 members, a proud 129-year history and a growing philanthropic vision. The OBE Board is comprised of all volunteers, with representatives from various local construction disciplines and an Architect representative.
OBE resumed direct management of the OBE Planroom after more than 25 years of contract management, and has established the OBE Online Planroom, a state-of-the-art online repository where OBE Members are able to access and download all available plans, specifications and addenda for Nebraska, western Iowa and some South Dakota construction projects. While our main goal is to serve our member companies, we are also dedicated to helping create opportunities for those seeking a career in construction trades.
Excess revenues generated through memberships to the OBE Online Planroom are used to support programs benefiting the Nebraska and western Iowa construction industry, including the recent creation of a “Building Futures” Scholarship, through Metropolitan Community College Scholarship Endowment Fund in support of those students seeking a career in the construction industry. We are proud to be able to partner with MCC.
