Scholarships

Application-based scholarship opportunities are available for new and continuing Metropolitan Community College students throughout the academic year. Scholarships may be awarded based on either a) student financial need or b) academic goals and/or progress. Students applying for scholarships based on financial need must have a completed FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file at the MCC Financial Aid office.

Annual scholarship opportunities for the 2019-2020 academic year will be announced on this page by August 31, 2018.

We are now accepting applications for the following competitive scholarship opportunities.

Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship

Competitive scholarship for new, returning, part-time or full-time MCC students, who intend to complete an associate degree or certificate in a career or technical education major at MCC. Provides up to $3,000 annually for up to two years, to be used toward tuition, fees and books. To be eligible, students must have a high school or MCC GPA of 2.5 or above; and financial need as determined through a completed FAFSA. Selected students will need to enroll in a minimum of three credit hours per quarter for three out of four quarters in the 2018-19 academic year.

To apply: print and complete this JOHNNY RODGERS CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORM.  Submit your completed application using any of the following methods:

  1. fax to the MCC Financial Aid office at 402-933-8437;

  2. mail to:

  3. drop form off at an MCC Financial Aid Office at an MCC campus near you.

MCC FOUNDATION AND PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIPS

The MCC Foundation's online scholarship application system, AwardSpring, is available during the application availability dates each quarter. Visit the MCC Foundation's website for dates scholarship applications will be available. Using the AwardSpring system, students can manage their own information, apply for multiple scholarships and check award status from any computer.
