Media alert: High school culinary competition tomorrow at MCC 

What: Metropolitan Community College will host the 15th annual Institute for the Culinary Arts High School Culinary Invitational tomorrow. The event will feature area high school teams competing against one another in various culinary categories. The event recognizes students for teamwork, excellence in culinary skills and knowledge of the industry while showcasing careers in the food and hospitality industry.

When: Thursday, Feb. 27 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. with an awards ceremony following

Where: Swanson Conference Center inside the Institute for the Culinary Arts, Fort Omaha Campus, 32nd Street and Sorensen Parkway.

 

Background: The event is free and open to the public. The invitational will feature students competing against each other in various categories as they are judged by industry professionals for taste and presentation. Students will represent the following schools: Burke High School, Central High School, Homeschool, Lincoln Southeast High School, Lincoln North Star High School, Papillion-La Vista High School, Papillion-La Vista South High School, Plattsmouth High School, Ralston High School, Roncalli Catholic High School and The Career Academy.
