Kickstart Online

College credits earned through Kickstart Online are based on a student’s cumulative performance throughout the duration of the MCC course and will appear on a student’s MCC transcript. It's important to remember that the grades earned while taking a college credit course will count toward the student's college grade point average (GPA) and will be a permanent part of their postsecondary transcript. High school credit for KSO courses are not automatically earned. Students should check with their counselor about dual credit options.

• Courses offered at MCC include college-level content, subject matter, expectations and standards, and students will be held to those standards and graded accordingly.
• It is the responsibility of the student to comply with the MCC Student Code of Conduct and all standards set forth in the course syllabus.
• If a student under the age of 18 is enrolled in both a high school and a postsecondary institution, the parents still retain the right under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) at the high school, however, the postsecondary rights belong to the student. Students who wish to grant parental or 3rd party access to their educational records may do so by submitting an Authorization to Release Student Information form to the Records Office after course registration is complete.

Current Nebraska High School students, grades 9-12, are automatically eligible to take credit classes tuition free. Students in the ninth grade become eligible for the tuition waiver during the MCC Fall quarter. Students are responsible for tools, textbooks, and any other associated course fees.

Step 1: Complete the free MCC Application to obtain your MCC ID. It you know your MCC ID, move to step 2.
Step 2: Complete the Spring Semester registration form.
Step 3: Submit the registration form to: secondarypartnerships@mccneb.edu by January 7, 2026.

• Step 2: Review Student Links where you can find access to Canvas, your MCC email, student self-service, and other essential tools.
• Step 3: Review Student Support & Resources so you're set up for success before classes begin.
• Step 4: Set up your password or contact IT Support Services at 531-622-2900 if you need assistance.
• Step 5: Order textbooks through the MCC Fort & South Omaha Bookstores.
• Step 6: Attend or login to class on day 1. You're officially a college student!

• Student Accommodation
  • High school students with documented disabilities who plan to enroll in MCC dual enrollment courses are eligible to receive reasonable accommodations. Accommodations at the college level differ from those available at the high school level. Whether a course is taken at the high school, online, or at an MCC campus, they must contact a MCC Disability Support Service Counselor in advance to request accommodations. Students requesting accommodations must self-identity and can do so by reviewing Disability Support Services information.

  • At MCC, Student Advocacy & Accountability provides support when students encounter academic, personal, or life challenges that may impact their success. Services include academic and personal advocacy, wellness and basic needs support, Title IX resources, conduct guidance, and pathways for readmission and resolution. The goal is to help students navigate challenges and stay on track academically.
