The Metropolitan Community College Financial Aid Special Grants program is designed to be the last or gap-funding resource for students so they may continue attending school and complete their degree at MCC. The program awards students tuition and fee support to help them stay in school or return to school to complete their educational goals. Students can only receive one Financial Aid Special Grant in their lifetime.
Within the program, there are 3 types of grants available. Each grant is designed to meet a specific need of our students.
This grant assists students who need help paying off a balance before returning to MCC.
Fresh Start Grant
This grant assists students who have had challenges in transitioning to college and their financial aid eligibility denied due to academic performance. This grant will give them a limited opportunity to demonstrate their ability to succeed academically and regain financial aid eligibility.
This grant assists students who have no more than 24 credits hours remaining to complete a degree but have exhausted other funding resources. The grant will pay tuition and fee costs for remaining required courses to complete a degree program.
Metropolitan Community College seeks recommendations from community agencies and MCC staff to identify students in need of financial support. To recommend a student for a Financial Aid Special Grant, complete the Financial Aid Special Grants recommendation form and submit to FinancialAidSpecialGrants@mccneb.edu.
