Code School

The Metropolitan Community College Code School is a part-time performance-based program where students learn in demand web development skills. The program curriculum is informed by talent needs identified by Omaha area employers.

Admittance to MCC Code School requires an application, skills assessment, and resume review. The application process will be used to determine a recommendation for enrollment into either the novice MCC Code School Pathways Program or the advanced professional Corporate Full-Stack Web Development Program.

We are currently accepting applications for the following programs:

  • Introduction to Web Development – 12 weeks Fall 2023

  • Introduction to WordPress – 12 weeks TBA
  • Corporate Full-Stack Web Development – 36 weeks September 2023

MCC Code School Pathways

Tiered Approach Programs

Students with little or no experience may qualify* to enroll in the 3-tier MCC Code School Pathways Program. This program provides opportunities for students to earn novice credentials in Front-End Web Development, Back-End Web Development, or WordPress Development. Student may choose to combine Tier One and Tier Two credentials with the Novice Full-Stack Bootcamp for a Full-Stack web development experience. 

Tier One

  • Introduction to Web Development – 12 weeks Fall 2023

  • Introduction to WordPress – 12 weeks TBA

Tier Two

  • Front-End Web Development – 12 weeks 2024

  • Back-End Web Development – 12 weeks   2024

  • Advanced WordPress Development – 12 weeks 2024

Tier Three

  • Novice Full-Stack Bootcamp - 8 weeks 2024

*Applicants who wish to enroll in Tier 2 or Tier 3 courses are required to complete a skills assessment. Skills assessments will be offered monthly starting in May 2023.

Corporate Full-Stack Web Development

Students working with our industry partners that can demonstrate a novice level of web development experience via a skills demonstration may qualify to enroll in our Corporate Full-Stack Web Development program. In this 36-week advanced professional program, students will grow their skills as they learn to code across the stack in teams using Agile methodology-a proven, employer-desired structure for web development. This fast-paced program immerses students in a rigorous curriculum and course structure based on needs identified by area employers who have aligned with MCC to help advance participants in their careers.
