MCC, local Project Management Institute chapter partner to provide mentorship to students

OMAHA, Neb. — Metropolitan Community College and the PMI Heartland Nebraska / Iowa Chapter Heartland Chapter have partnered to provide students of the MCC Project Management Academy mentorship and professional development opportunities. Through free memberships, students can take advantage of PMI Heartland Chapter events, meeting face-to-face with professionals from local businesses, universities and organizations.

“The PMI Heartland Chapter is the premier organization for area project management professionals,” said Robert Caldwell, MCC Workforce Innovation Division training manager. “Partnerships such as this one are important because it gives students more than just what they learn in the classroom. Students can connect with area professionals and begin their pathway into a successful career.”

The partnership provides sponsored memberships and is available to MCC Project Management Academy students. Beginning in September, the MCC Project Management Academy will offer a diverse curriculum of project management principles, tools and techniques. Students will learn best practices through group exercises, case studies and real-world simulation to prepare them for certification exams.
